Okay, I’ve received a number of inquiries about the pricing and features of the 2014 vs. 2015 Toyota Highlander, so I thought I’d pull together what I know (or at least think I know) about the situation…
For starters, yes, Toyota dealers (at least some of them) are currently taking pre-orders for the 2015 Highlander with build dates starting mid-August.
Next… I’ve heard from several readers whose local dealers have confirmed that pricing will remain the same from 2014 to 2015, and that there will be no design changes for the new model year.
Update: Looks like prices will be increasing $200 across the board.
Here’s what the pricing should looked like in 2014:
|Trim Level||2014 MSRP|
|Limited w/Driver Tech Package||$41,040|
|Limited Platinum (incl. Tech Package)||$42,130|
|Limited Hybrid w/Driver Tech Package||$48,700|
|Limited Hybrid Platinum (incl. Tech Package)||$49,790|
Please note that these prices do not include a “delivery, processing, and handling fee” (i.e., destination fee) of $860. Also note that there is an added charge of $395 for Blizzard Pearl as a “special color” option.
I think that pretty much covers it, except that you can add a BluRay rear entertainment system (RES) to the XLE or Limited for $1,810 (list price). But keep in mind that the BluRay RES option is not compatible with the Platinum version due to the size of the panoramic moonroof.
Official pricing of the 2015 Highlander should be released by Toyota within the next couple of weeks. I’ll be sure to update when I know more.
